I walked around downtown on Sunday November 3oth and asked people "What do you want for Christmas?

The funny thing is that the most popular answer was, "I don't know".  Now at first I just thought that people hadn't had time to think about it.  But I started asking people why they hadn't thought about it and the answer to that question was surprising.  "I've been too busy thinking of what I'm getting other people".

So the conclusion I came up with was that Spokanites think of others before they think of themselves.

Now before I tell you the top 10 answers I wanted to give a shout out to what I think were the most interesesting answers, other than the one I just mentioned above.

  •  A lady told me that she wished for the joy and happiness we had as kids.
  • One lady said she wanted her husband and kids to tell her that they love her and that sit around the Christmas tree singing Christmas songs.
  • One man said he already had his gift.  A healthy family.
  • A Russian girl had her translator friend tell me that she wanted 1 Million dollars, while another Russian girl told me she wanted a Big Fluffy Teddy Bear.  I told her to ask her millionaire friend for it.  ha.
  • A very special lady that talked to me at some length told me that she wanted Keane Revees for Christmas.
  • A man getting out of his car threw his right fist in the air saying, " I want Jesus to come back"!
  • One Dad said he wanted his little girls two front teeth for Christmas.  I looked down at a beautiful little girl with a big gap in her bright smile.

Top 10 Things Spokanites want for Christmas!

  1. I don't know
  2. World Peace/Peace on Earth was the second most popular answer, although a woman asked if that was the right answer.
  3. A good economy was the next most popular answer
  4. Lower Gas Prices
  5. Dog or Puppy
  6. Happiness
  7. A new TV (Psst Huppins is just down the street!)
  8. Get out of Debt.  (G.O.O.D, I want that too.)
  9. Jewelry/Diamonds ( they were headed into the mall).
  10. 1 Million Dollars.

In closing there were several other answers since I talked to over 100 people that day.  However they only occured once so That didn't get into the overall list.  I did mention the most interesting ones above.

All in all, I think Spokanites want happiness for everyone, even the non-spokanites.
